Ignite Theatre film making
After their community gathering in May, the women were approached by Ignite Theatre Glasgow with an opportunity to make a film together.
Ignite Theatre is an award-winning Glasgow based charity which engages with a diverse range of people who face multiple challenges in life.
Ignite has worked with various New Scots groups in the past creating films and sharing culture. The women were really excited at the thought of working with Ignite and have have begun meeting weekly to create a film on the theme - ‘cultural integration’
Ignite came to Centre 81 last week to show the women previous films they have made with other New Scot groups and explain more about the filming process.
The women are going to be working together every week over the summer and are set to learn a host of new skills like filming and editing.
The group plan to incorporate lots of different types of cultural sharing in the film and hopefully a film premiere can be arranged at Centre 81 once it has been made, how great would that be!
Keep your eyes peeled on our social media accounts for updates on the process over the summer holidays!
