Film Screening
Last Tuesday the women hosted their long awaited film premiere in the Glasgow Film Theatre.
Their film, made in partnership with Ignite Theatre Glasgow, was shown from 12:30pm in Screen 1 to around 50 guests.
The women filmed over the course of 4 days this summer in Clydebank and Knightswood. The film focused on their lives in Glasgow, the challenges they have faced and how the peer support of the Moments of Freedom group has helped them integrate in Scotland.
The audience consisted of local New Scot pupils, Councillors, community members, other third sector organisations and MSP staff.
It was a great chance for the women to share their story on a big platform and have the chance to do a Q&A session afterwards to take questions from their audience.
What next?
The women now plan to make the final edits to their film before showing it elsewhere and sharing it online.
The women were also interviewed the next day by the STV News at 6 team in Centre 81, Clydebank. These interviews will be put into a segment on the evening news all about Moments of Freedom and the work the women are doing in Glasgow.
